Privacy Policy

This explains what La7zetna collects, why, who else can see it, and how to make us delete it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version. You can design an entire book without giving us anything — it stays in your own browser until you choose to save it. We ask for an email only at sign-in, and for a name, address and phone only if you order a printed book. We do not sell your data, we run no advertising or tracking pixels, and you can erase everything yourself from this page.

Who we are

La7zetnaLa7zetna (sole trader, Lebanon). We make personalized illustrated books and deliver them in Lebanon. For anything in this policy, write to elroumimarc@gmail.com.

What we collect

While you are designing a book — nothing. The whole build flow works signed out. Your characters, page choices and the words you write are stored in your own browser (in localStorage) and are not sent to us until you press Save. If you close the tab and never come back, we never had it.

When you create an account: your email address and sign-in details, which are held by our sign-in provider Clerk. Our own database deliberately does not store your real email — it holds an internal identifier instead.

When you save a book: the names you gave your characters, the appearance options you chose, the text you wrote on each page, and the finished images of your book.

When you order a printed book: your first and last name, street address, city and phone number — the minimum needed to physically deliver a parcel and call you when the driver is nearby.

Automatically: your IP address and basic request information, used to keep the site up and to stop abuse (for example, someone hammering the image renderer). Standard server logs are kept by our hosting provider.

What we deliberately do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • We run no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts and no third-party pixels — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, nothing of that kind.
  • We do not use your book’s contents for marketing, or show it to anyone else.
  • We do not use your book’s contents to train artificial-intelligence models.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • To perform our contract with you — we cannot print and deliver a book without the book, your name and your address.
  • Our legitimate interests — keeping the service running, preventing fraud and abuse, and keeping records of sales.
  • Legal obligation — where tax or accounting rules require us to keep a record of a transaction.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of established service providers to run the product. They only handle what they need to, and only on our instructions:

When you order a printed book, we also give the delivery courier the name, address and phone number needed to bring it to you, and we give a print shop the finished book file.

We will disclose information if we are legally required to, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

Where your data goes

Our servers are outside Lebanon — mainly in the European Union and the United States, as listed above. Using La7zetna means accepting that your information is processed in those countries. We choose providers that offer standard contractual protections for international transfers.

How long we keep it

  • Unsaved drafts — in your browser only, until you clear them. We remove the draft from your browser automatically once an order is placed from it.
  • Books and characters — until you delete them or ask us to erase your data.
  • Delivery details — kept while your order is being fulfilled, then retained with the order record. They are erased when you ask us to erase your data.
  • Order records — after an erasure request we keep the fact that a sale happened, with all personal details removed, because tax and accounting rules require a record of the transaction.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your personal information;
  • send you a copy of what you gave us;
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Deletion is self-service and immediate: Delete my data. For anything else, email elroumimarc@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live — for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom — you may also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority.

How we protect it

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Your book files are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links, never from public addresses. Access to the live database and to customer records is limited to the owner. Backups are encrypted before they leave the server.

No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will tell you and describe what happened.

Children

La7zetna is not intended for children. You must be 18 or older to place an order. Some page designs in our catalogue are written for adult relationships, and are shown only when the book is being made for a partner.

Changes to this policy

If we change it, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell customers by email rather than quietly editing the page.
